State Rep District 136

If you live in north Austin, Cedar Park, Leander, or west Round Rock please consider this when deciding for whom to vote

Matt Stillwell, Democrat:

was raised a hunter. But by my early 20s, I concluded that hunting and guns didn’t interest me. Today, I leave my kids’ fishing and hunting trips to their Grandpa. My decision was the right one for me, however it is not a decision I would force on anyone. As long as guns are obtained legally and used responsibly, Texans should retain the right to own guns. I would not vote to hinder their responsible sale, use or ownership. The NRA gave my stances on gun owner’s rights a grade of B, indicating that I have a reasonable and common sense support of gun rights and gun owners, while not buying in to all of their initiatives, like “Campus Carry” legislation introduced in the last session, and allowing some buyers to avoid background checks.
His Republican opponent, Tony Dale, is endorsed by the NRA, TSRA, Rick Perry, and Jerry Patterson (nuff said?)

The Dems think they have a shot in this new district with all the Austin liberals spilling over into the less-expensive north Austin housing and California liberals moving into the area. NOT voting for gun rights supporter in this one could prove just as harmful as voting for the other guy.

Get out and vote.
