As the name indicates, this is the place for gun-related political discussions. It is not open to other political topics.

National Guard "Treat preppers as terrorists"

Post by Rex B »

"In addition, guns will be confiscated.

“They have a list compiled of all these doomsday preppers that have gone public and they plan to go after them first,” Soldier X said."

Soldier X admitted, “Our worry is that Obama’s gonna do what he said he’s gonna do and he’s gonna outlaw all weapons altogether and anybody’s name who is on a weapon, they’re gonna come to your house and try to take them.
Hmmm.. Wasn't there something about a 2nd Amendment to the Constitution before our current age of "Enlightenment?"

That's part of that "living" constitution.

Fully corroborated by National Enquirer

Actually, if this account is true I suspect it was a single unit non-COM with "issues" rather than systemic training.

Part of me says "yeah, you're right. Silly stuff. Just a reason to put on my tinfoil hat today." But then there was the aftermath of Katrina where the National Guard did exactly that. With a live example, the possibility that it is true is a bit harder to discount. But I agree that if such plans do exist, they are hardly the fodder for average non-com's discussion.

I guess it comes down to the answers to a few key questions:
1. Do you believe that there will be a serious financial collapse? If not, there will be no reason to worry.
2. Do you believe that if such an even were to occur, the Federal government would attempt to institute marshal law in order to quell the disturbance? While it hasn't happened recently, the National Guard has been used in the past - I remember watching the Vietnam protests, among others.
3. Has the Government shown an propensity to prosecute individuals who tend to think for themselves or to disagree with government policies?

Unfortunately, some of the TV preppers have shown that they possess some interesting ordnance. Following the logic that the government would not want that stuff to "fall into the wrong hands", it could be confiscated to "protect the people.' I won't have worried about that line of thinking to much a few years ago but the thread running now where a homeowner was tasered for continuing to spray water on his house will the fire trucks were enroute suggests that the whole concept of protecting people from themselves has taken on a new meaning.

Frankly, I'm not sure what to believe any more outside of my religion.

The sad part is that the "National Enquirer" probably has more accurate reporting than the "main stream media."

I saw that movie too. Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, what a team.

You do realize that the Constitution is a mere piece of paper? That is has precisely the value that the citizens place upon it? That if enough citizens think it's worthless, it is?
