Gunvault Power Adapter

Post by SQLGeek »

I have a Gunvault Multivault that I want to use but the batteries are weak to the point I can't open it and I seem to have misplaced both the keys and the power adapter that came with it.

Can anybody tell me what kind of power adapter is needed and if they can be found locally at a place like Radio Shack or Best Buy?

Contact GunVault. You can even do it live online. They'll tell you what to do.

My Gunvault power cube is rated Output: 12VDC 800mA; Input 120VAC 60Hz 23W. Output side of adapter is - (minus); inside is + (positive) O.D. is just a hair under 5 mm and ID is just under 2.5 mm. Hon-Kwag Model No. -D12-08A.

According to Gunvault the power cube is NOT primary power and will only work when batteries are dead, dead, dead. Found out the hard way that when the door solenoid first starts acting up - change batteries first time you coax it to open or you may be screwed - better yet change batteries yearly before problem crops up - particularly if you've lost key and power cube. Good Luck - might find a multiple adapter power cube at RadioShack for some ridiculous price vs. Gunvault.
