UK is violent crime capital of Europe

As the name indicates, this is the place for gun-related political discussions. It is not open to other political topics.

UK is violent crime capital of Europe

Post by VMI77 »

This is what Socialism produces. And these numbers and the others in the article...the UK has the highest murder rate in Europe (more violent crime even that South Africa)....are why the liberals always say "gun deaths" and "gun violence": they're practiced liars and they know the truth is against them.
The United Kingdom is the violent crime capital of Europe and has one of the highest rates of violence in the world, worse even than America, according to new research.

A breakdown of the statistics, which were compiled into league tables by the Conservatives, revealed that violent crime in the UK had increased from 652,974 offences in 1998 to more than 1.15 million crimes in 2007.

It means there are over 2,000 crimes recorded per 100,000 population in the UK, making it the most violent place in Europe.

Austria is second, with a rate of 1,677 per 100,000 people, followed by Sweden, Belgium, Finland and Holland.

By comparison, America has an estimated rate of 466 violent crimes per 100,000 population.
Edited to add this:

This guy not only shot two British police officers to death, he threw a grenade at them. Geez, how many criminals in the US are throwing grenades at the police?
Cregan was being sought in connection with the murders of a father and son killed in separate gun and grenade attacks, with police offering £50,000 for his arrest.
Just nine minutes after the killing, two men were caught on CCTV carrying out another grenade attack three miles away on a house with four people inside. The gunman was seen roaming the street with his a loaded pistol, before throwing a grenade at the house. Nobody was injured.

Someone should inform Piers Morgan.

Morgan is too arrogant to even listen; he is full of his own (imagined) importance as a mover and shaker to his miniscule audience of sheep.

That's not possible.http://newsbusters.org/blogs/noel-shepp ... z2FVObHNAH
PRATT: Your violent crime rate is higher than ours as is the violent crime rate in Australia. America is not the Wild West that you are depicting. We only have the problems in our cities, and unhappily, in our schools where people like you have been able to get laws put on the books that keep people from being able to defend themselves.

I honestly don't understand why you would rather have people be victims of a crime than be able to defend themselves. It's incomprehensible.

MORGAN: You're an unbelievably stupid man, aren't you?
All this British trash does is hurl insults to shut out any facts. To use a line from Rush Limbaugh: Piers Morgan is human debris. There is absolutely no reason for this piece of vermin to be allowed to stay in this country. He should be returned COD to his beloved Liberal Utopia.

They must be mistaken their are no handguns available in England, it's against the law. If I remember correctly for years when their gun laws were not so Draconian the Bobbies were not armed, yet now they have the need for guns including :eek6 fully auto weapons in this safer environment.

Paleeze, save me from those that would profess to want to save us all from ourselves.

For these wacky nut job liberals it's not murder if it's done with a knife or a club. Personally, if I'm going to be murdered, I'd rather be shot than stabbed or clubbed to death. I didn't see grenade listed though. Apparently the criminals in the UK also use grenades. I bet their grenade violence rate is higher than ours too.

This is the kind of information that, when it becomes an appropriate time to debate, must be heralded in hopes of breaking through emotion and reach the reason in some people. I say "some" simply because there are those whom you will not be able to make a breakthrough. People of this nation must be reminded that gun control does not curb violence at all.

Thanks for this post. I'll be sharing this with everybody I know...pro and especially anti.
