This is what I keep telling retarded liberals. You don't like what the Constitution says?
THEN CHANGE IT!!!! The Founders, in their wisdom, included the means for changing it, AND they made it deliberately difficult to do so that A)
momentary passions would not be able to
permanently destroy rights, and B) to ensure that, upon deep and sober reflection, MOST of the people would want to make that fundamental change.
The fact is that the gun-grabber position is the minority position. It is equally a fact that they have the full-throated support of the leftist media (but I repeat myself). Furthermore, it is based on momentary hysteria, which is why they always say we have to
immediately "do something." The Founders created a system which dampens the effect of momentary hysteria in changing the Constitution. That is a fundamental testimony to their wisdom, AND it is in stark contrast to the LACK of wisdom on the left.
Need I remind anybody that the NYT is the same publication that gave a voice to Walter Durante (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Duranty)? Spouting the stalinist praise was their default position, and even after Durante's work was proven to be totally false. And as late as 2003 when the Times had the opportunity to strip Durante of the
Pulitzer Prize he had falsely earned on the back of that communist propaganda, the NYT editorial board ultimately decided not to strip the award because "there was not clear and convincing evidence of deliberate deception, the relevant standard in this case." (

There are three categories of people who read the NYT: godless lefties who think that the Times is the font of all wisdom; apathetic people who don't care about politics and who buy it for the crossword puzzle, to line their bird cages, or wrap fish in it; and patriotic Americans who read it because if there is a snake in your house, you should know where it is and what kind of poison it has.
The NYT has long outlived any usefulness it ever had as a "news" provider, and in fact, it is deleterious when the default position of the nation's "preeminent" news source is that of a stalinist mouthpiece. If they went out of business tomorrow, it could only improve the nation's political discourse.......not to mention improve the security of our intelligence apparatus. I don't want to encourage anybody to do anything illegal, but if their headquarters burned down tomorrow, I would toast the person who did it.
Other than that, I have no particular opinion in the matter......
