Now Anti-Guns Idiots are gunning for our CHL!

As the name indicates, this is the place for gun-related political discussions. It is not open to other political topics.

Now Anti-Guns Idiots are gunning for our CHL!

Post by Beiruty »

  With no logic whatsoever, I could not believe my eyes, anti-gun are gunning for our CHLs.
As the nation’s leaders devise new gun control strategies following the Connecticut shooting, they should look for ways to strengthen state laws that govern the possession and use of firearms. In too many states, these laws are weak and, in some cases, seem almost designed to encourage violence.
It looks like a total-war against our 2nA.

If they want war, fine. We have most of the guns and ammo.

This is exactly why we can concede nothing. We if give an inch, they will take a mile.

Concede - admit that something is true or valid after first denying or resisting it.

Their claims are not true nor valid. If the Republicans in the house cave, they are saying the anti's were right all along. This time it will not be a 10 year ban. There is no compromise with these people, only steps toward their ultimate goal.

If they want to repeal the 2nd amendment, fine. There's a process for it. If it's followed and repealed, I'll accept the decision (didn't say I would like it). What galls me is the whole "infringing" part seems to be rampantly ignored right now.

This is what I keep telling retarded liberals. You don't like what the Constitution says? THEN CHANGE IT!!!! The Founders, in their wisdom, included the means for changing it, AND they made it deliberately difficult to do so that A) momentary passions would not be able to permanently destroy rights, and B) to ensure that, upon deep and sober reflection, MOST of the people would want to make that fundamental change.

The fact is that the gun-grabber position is the minority position. It is equally a fact that they have the full-throated support of the leftist media (but I repeat myself). Furthermore, it is based on momentary hysteria, which is why they always say we have to immediately "do something." The Founders created a system which dampens the effect of momentary hysteria in changing the Constitution. That is a fundamental testimony to their wisdom, AND it is in stark contrast to the LACK of wisdom on the left.

Need I remind anybody that the NYT is the same publication that gave a voice to Walter Durante (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Duranty)? Spouting the stalinist praise was their default position, and even after Durante's work was proven to be totally false. And as late as 2003 when the Times had the opportunity to strip Durante of the Pulitzer Prize he had falsely earned on the back of that communist propaganda, the NYT editorial board ultimately decided not to strip the award because "there was not clear and convincing evidence of deliberate deception, the relevant standard in this case." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Dur ... tzer_Prize)

There are three categories of people who read the NYT: godless lefties who think that the Times is the font of all wisdom; apathetic people who don't care about politics and who buy it for the crossword puzzle, to line their bird cages, or wrap fish in it; and patriotic Americans who read it because if there is a snake in your house, you should know where it is and what kind of poison it has.

The NYT has long outlived any usefulness it ever had as a "news" provider, and in fact, it is deleterious when the default position of the nation's "preeminent" news source is that of a stalinist mouthpiece. If they went out of business tomorrow, it could only improve the nation's political discourse.......not to mention improve the security of our intelligence apparatus. I don't want to encourage anybody to do anything illegal, but if their headquarters burned down tomorrow, I would toast the person who did it.

Other than that, I have no particular opinion in the matter......

The Founders were some smart folks........they created a good system (they knew it would be challenged continuously).

But there is a BIG difference between the Founders and our current crop (for many years) of Politicians........

The Founders actually wanted to do what was best for a free America and a free People.

The Politicians we have now want to strip us of ALL our freedoms, with the 2nd as being their starting point so that destruction of the rest can follow easily.

And......it will come MUCH closer to a possibility for them with the next two appointments to the SCOTUS.

So since the state that had the criminal massacre is the 5th most restrictive place to have a gun in the nation, rather than allowing more gun possession by honest people in that state to combat crime, the focus will be to restrict gun possession by honest people in states that did not have a criminal massacre.

I prefer this intellectual exercise to share with the hard core gun banners:

So, you want to ban (and confiscate?) all guns?

The Constitution says you can't
The United States Supreme Court says you can't
The People WITH ALL THE GUNS say you can't

Good luck with that.

Well, jeez, aren't you being a little harsh? At least they are an informed and authoritative source for knowledge about guns.

This is where it is still posted at their website as of today: http://www.nytimes.com/imagepages/2012/ ... UNS-2.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

In case they take the post down, this is what it looks like:

Yep. That's a .40 S&W Glock, all right. Looks like a Gen 3; the Gen 4 has an ambidextrous thumb safety. The ".45 ACP" stamped on the slide is just part of the serial number.

The New York Times and Mayor Bloomberg, where do they come from and what do they have in common? Rather than have Texas secede from the Union, why not encourage these people in NYC to form a separate government and a country within which they can find comfort and safety...away from the rest of us gun and religion clinging heathens.

Once this done, we can assist the good folk of Chicago and Cook County, Il and San Fran and LA, CA to do the same. Is this a plan or what?

What they have in common is Agenda 21. They have no intention of going off and forming a separate entity when they can take over the whole country with world government.

The powers of Cook County and LA are part of the the master plan. I think they call the method disenfranchisement. We are well on our way. And no, I'm not taking off my tin foil hat even for the hoilday. :evil2:
