Time for Subway Control?

Post by jimlongley »

A woman murdered a man by pushing him in front of a subway in the second recent occurrence in NYCity. Mayor Bloomberg blamed it on the mental health system.

Ban all high capacity subways and assault trains.
Armed not dangerous but potentially lethal.

So far this year, subwayers in NYC are 2 for 2. Maybe chairman Bloomberg should outlaw or restrict subway trains to prevent further tragedies like this from happening.

The problem is high capacity subway cars; where hundreds of riders are packed in like sardines. This causes the mentally ill to go crazy and push people onto the tracks.

There is an easy solution for this: ban high capacity subway cars; no city has a need to subway cars that fit more than 10 riders at a time. With every rider with plenty of room to sit, this will prevent the mentally ill from going crazy and they won't push people onto the tracks... and there will be peace in the world!

I'm writing Feinstein... sure she can add this quickly to her bill.

Naw -- It's high-capacity subway STATIONS. We need to restrict the STATIONS to no more than 10 travelers at a time.

The stations don't cause subwayers to do subway crime any more than the roads cause drunk drivers to drive drunk!!! It's the subways that have to be banned. And not just the high capacity subways either. All subways must go now!!!!!

It's time someone sued the subway designers and NYC. There are no safety devices to prevent recurrence of these murders by subway. Negligence is obvious since a reasonable person can anticipate riders being pushed off platforms, intentionally or otherwise, into the paths of these high speed bullet like trains. Allowing massive crowds on the platforms exacerbates the poor design; throw in a few lunatics and maybe we should just ban subways, period. High capacity trains appeal only to a relatively small portion of our population and I find no constitutional protection for them.

They need trains with fewer cars, do you really need a subway train with more than ten cars. You can get to your destination just as fast with a two car train.

I strongly advocate that you control your sandwich every time you eat at Subway. Also, Subway sandwich's with "shoulder things that go up" should be outlawed (guess those would be "sandwich shrouds")

Hey this is fun! I guess that's why the anti-gun people are always so quick to jump on a tragedy to further their agenda.

Maybe we should lobby Congress to designate NYC city hall and the white house as Official Gun Free Zones???

Bloomberg needs to implement a 7 day waiting period and background checks for all subway riders. To protect the children, of course.
