In a few months, (I know, I am early, but I like being prepared!) I will be flying to Kentucky for a weekend.
I assume I will be (for the first time) checking a gun in my luggage and I wanted to know if I can also put a knife in the gun case, or am I prohibited from doing that?
I know I can check a knife in general in my checked bags, but I would rather not have the knife just out there for someone to steal.
Thanks

Re: Flying with gun and knife
I've just tossed knives in with my pistol cases before, no worries.
A "gun case" as defined by the airlines doesn't have to be "gun only" case, just lockable. I usually use one of my thinline "car safe" boxes with a non-tsa key, and toss that in my bigger bag, declare it at the counter, and go from there.
