scarbourogh fair - carry ?

Post by Bubba »

Never been. Somebody that I talked to said it might be fun to go once and photograph the people dressed up and acting silly so I was thinking about going. Anybody here been ? Is it posted ? Any other rules apply about NOT being able to carry ?

Just checking ...

It is a lot of fun. I've been every year for the last 25 years. I've taken a few hundred pictures, too! They have a general "No Weapons" policy. If you go in costume, all swords, knives, and daggers must be fixed in their scabbards so they can not be drawn. Quivers of arrows also have to be fixed in place as well. And, to answer your real question, they are posted with a proper 30.06 sign, so you'll have to leave it in the vehicle. At least they were posted last year. They have armed Sheriff's deputies, as well as unarmed security personel on site. But, do go, it's really a good way to spend a day, and there are lots of photo ops!
