Last week, my wife was visiting her folks, and had some kind of issue over there and wanted to come home early. She called me, asking her to pick her up at the airport. She was coming home RIGHT NOW and wanted me to come get her.
Well, I was at work, and couldn't get down there right away, and BOY did she let me have it.
So I was in a really rotten mood.
So I finally get down to Love, and call her. She hadn't even gotten her bags yet! That made my mood even better.
Then, one of the officers comes up telling me I had to move.
So I moved. VERY quickly. Squealing my tires.
As I came back around, the officer indicated that he wanted to have a few words with me.
And boy, he let me have it. (I did deserve it, after all.)
He gave me the whole riot act in his, "I'm in charge here!" voice.
He asks for my ID, and provide my ID and CHL.
He took one look, and asked me, "Is it on you??"
"Yes, tucked under my shirt."
"We're not going to have a problem here, are we?"
"No, Officer."
"Good."
He went and checked on me, and a few minutes later, came back.
"Ok, so you have a clean record, and you're a CHLer. I'm guessing your'e just having a bad day. Cool it."
He didn't write me a ticket, and I apologized to him profusely.
Dallas PD was very professional with me, considering I was already pretty upset when they nabbed me. I was treated somewhat forcefully (verbally) but well within what I deserved. I was not disarmed, or even pulled out of my car.
