I was about to say the same thing. They are being used and as soon as the president gets what he wants, they will be dropped like he never knew them. That's what the Air Force One ride to the capital was all about...giving them a thrill and a sense of importance so they would do whatever he wants. it is a predatory and abuser action on the Presidents part. They don't realize that the President is manipulating them by giving them their 15 minutes of "fame"... I'm sure that some of them believe that they are making permanent connections and have aspirations in the back of their mind.

Couldn't agree more. While I grieve for the loss of their children, these parents are collaborators and therefore part of the enemy.

Supermans post above is right on. Riding on Air Force One is a real hoot.

Long ago (early 60's) I was in the USMC honor guard. Spent almost a third of the time at Camp David, lots of time at the range, picking up a hand full of 14k medals. Transferred to HMX-1 for the last nine months, got a few rides on AF-1 back then.

Not as fancy a platform as todays version, but it was outfitted very nice for JFK.
