CTD should change his name!

Post by Beiruty »

CTD, should be now called Cheaper than Diamond! :mad5 :mad5

Not sure why I stopped, but I did. Evey pistol/rifle range ammo including Russian garbage is $1/rd. 50 rds of 9mm is for $50.
That place was like empty from any customers, save 1 or 2 walking and checking firearms. A full wall of the building was dedicated for ammo and no one is interested.

I left as fast I could, :leaving :leaving :leaving :bigmouth :bigmouth :bigmouth :bigmouth :bigmouth

It seems to me that the customer base has changed it for them, to just "Dirt."

Kind of like mud, only dryer.

I hope shooters remember how CTD started price gouging right away...

All their locations are expensive but I was wondering which one you were at? Maybe a year ago I dropped by the one in mcKinney. It was packed.

I was in there looking for bacon but they were completely sold out. Their ammo was too high for me, even back then.

I've never found anything from them really cheaper once you factor the S/H and sales taxes. Not sure who buys from them.

Wow, I just picked up some 45 ACP Tula at a small gun shop in Cuero for $20 a box of 50. I think the more expensive US brand was about $30 a box. So much for volume discounts.

Doesn't anyone remember they were the first to do this in 2008 to? I know I do. I haven't shopped there since around 2004 but I make it a point not to do so since 2008 because of what they did then. Maybe they're just pricing ahead of time for hyperinflation.

Wow... That store use to always be busy. It sounds like they are scaring off their customers. The free market economy is a miraculous thing. They will either get competitive or find themselves at an estate auction.

I remember the 2008 thing. There was a post someone bumped up a few weeks back where someone linked to CTD selling a box of .380 for around fifty bucks. It was quite the laugh for us all. Like you, I have not purchased from them since at least that long.

I wonder who, if anyone, can or will buy ammo at that price. I sure as heck can't pay that much.

Agreed!

I used to buy miscellaneous mags and accessories from them online until the latest round of panic/price-gouging. I wasn't even in the game in '08 so I can't speak of that.

I will humbly admit that I did give them some online business a couple weeks ago.

The Pmags that I ordered from Brownell's back in December finally arrived, but without the accustomed dust covers. Not sure why I felt I needed them so bad, but I did, and the only place that had them in stock at a reasonable price was CTD. That's about the only thing that was reasonably priced, so I bit the bullet and placed an order. I still have a dirty taste in my mouth for it and not CLP, nor Hoppes #9, not even brake cleaner will get it out. Maybe I should post this in the Never Again section. :???:

Just got an email ad from them selling Colt 6920's...for $2595. Unbelieveable. Clyde Armory sells the same rifle for $1199 and they have new stock several times a week.

I just saw that in my own inbox. Somebody ought to email those folks with a link to Clyde Armory's page. That's just piracy, that's all.

I just sent CTD the following message on their contact page:
Your price for a Colt 6920 is $2,595.00 (http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/ ... 6+Campaign).

Clyde Armory in Georgia offers the EXACT same rifle for $1,199.95.......One Thousand Three Hundred Ninety Five dollars LESS!!!!!!! How do you live with yourselves?
(http://clydearmory.com/colt-le6920mp-bl ... a7tnduahu1)

I have purchased a couple of guns from you guys over the years, but I'll never buy another gun from you again....and I [darn] sure won't buy an AR15 from you guys if you're willing to [cheat] American gun owners to the tune of nearly $1,400 per purchase. You've pretty much lost me as a customer.
Yeah, yeah, yeah....It's capitalism and the market place at work. I get it.....and I am a confirmed capitalist. But being a capitalist ALSO means being a good steward of my money, and I sure as heck don't have to willingly bend over and submit to that kind of beating....not when I can find it elsewhere for considerably less. I mean, good gravy.....even with the transfer fee and the shipping it is still well over $1,200 in difference.
