CHL Dinner

We had our monthly "Packing" dinner last night. This is when a few guys from work, along with thier guests go out to eat and socialize. We usually have around 5-9 folks show up, along with guests. The one with the most properly concealed, unnoticeable weapons gets his supper paid for. There are some rules, but it is just a fun excuse to go out and have a good time. Russ won with the following:
1) Snake Slayer on left ankle
2) .38 S&W on right ankle
3) 1911 IWB
4) Glock 22 IWB
5) .32 (?) in pocket holster

Matt got the "biggest piece" award (only able to win once) with a S&W .454 Cassull in a shoulder holster.

If I read it correctly Venus that's one on each ankle, one in the pocket, and two around the waist. It is a lot of hardware, but it does sound evenly distributed. Sitting with two around the waist would not be a big deal.

With all those guns, I don't think he'll need to bother with extra mags & speed loaders. When you're out of ammo, you just grab another gun.

I was just joking about the extra mags

But that does bring up a tactical question as to speed, I bet it's faster to reload an auto with a mag from your belt then to draw from an ankle holster...at least when your standing. Never having used an ankle holster, I don't know for sure, but I'm pretty certain in my case the reload would be faster.

Since becoming a civilian, I don't carry BU firearms, but I do carry spare mags (I also carry a folder and have been thinking about OC spray). But many on the forum have indicated they do carry BU's. So for those of you that carry multiple firearms, do you carry reloads, or depend on the BU???

Sounds like he still had room for a shoulder holster...maybe a dual rig with matching snubbies on each side. Ooh, and maybe a 9mm in the small of the back. Still space for a small-frame pistol in a SmartCarry or other lower-abdomen holster.

Even equipped in such a limited fashion as he was <chuckle>, I'd still want to obey all traffic laws. Perfectly leagal to have multiple guns, but wouldn't that make for an interesting LEO stop. Russ hands officer DL and CHL:

"Where is it?"
"Uh, well, it's like this, officer. We have this dinner every once in a while where we compete to see who can carry and properly conceal the most gear..."
