Benjamin air gun repair
I have an old Benjamin air pistol I would like to get repaired. Does anyone know of someone who does this kind of work in Texas (preferably Houston area)? I just want to drop it off instead of having to mail it.
Thanks
Thanks

It doesn't pressure up. It is an old air gun I found in a box after my parents passed on. I don't think it really has any value but I would like to get it fixed. I can mail it off to have reseal, replacing all the internals seals and leather pump cup, cleaning the internals and testing. I would rather have it done locally.chuck j wrote:Whats wrong with it ?

I have an old Sheridan that needs repairs and I have not found any local repair shops. Here's the phone number of a guy in Ft Worth. He doesn't e-mail; Greg Fuller (818) 345 2796 I haven't used him, I only know about him from seeing a comment on this site.

Try dripping some automatic transmission fluid on the seals , you might be surprised , they have to be lubed periodically . Do it 2 to 3 times over a period of a week or so . Hope it helps

Do be careful not to over do the oil. Too much oil in an air gun can cause a catastrophic explosion.chuck j wrote:Try dripping some automatic transmission fluid on the seals , you might be surprised , they have to be lubed periodically . I would use an AW46 hydraulic fluid to lube it. Petrolum based oils will expand and ruin the seals. Hydraulic fluid is best for rubber seals , dot 3 brake fluid is also good its clean fluid and hydroscopic.
