This one is interesting. I am curious to hear what happened. A plain clothed detective is only going to have a gun, ammo and handcuffs on his person.

For some reason, people seem intent on discussing this shooting in the Zimmerman thread.

But I do wonder why the detective thought it was urgent to chase this guy to continue the conversation.

Yup.. Two different scenarios. The guy does have some extensive criminal history. Should be interesting when the info is released on what was said, why he ran, ect.

If you want some entertainment, they are already protesting at APD at 14:00 hours today because he was a BMA shot by the police.
