Are we able to put avatars under our username? I'm trying, but can't do it.

I was poking around on that, and discovered that avatars were disabled...

...so I dropped my avatar in my signature line. It works.

I tried that. Wouldn't work.

I'm not going to spend anymore time on it... not worth it.

In short, they are too hard to police.

In other words, a few bad apples spoil it for everyone. It is almost impossible to write guidelines for avatars that won't end up getting abused. There are those that will always push the limits to see what they can get away with and it is not worth the headache. In fact, the moderators are discussing the guidelines regarding pictures in signature lines right now due to some very distracting imagery.
