Bad experience with "black plated" Win .22 bricks

Post by Beiruty »

My last grab of the day from wally world was 1000 rd of .22 from Winchester and it was black plated rimfire ammo.

My NEOS 22 never had any issues with Rem or Federal brick 0.22 ammo. It was not the case with this win stuff. Tons of failure to close the breach and failure to feed. The steel match was a mess.

I am now only grabbing copper plated Rem rimfire ammo.

Oh my, and I was so happy to pick up a brick last week....
Sorry your match went bad. I've not opened mine, maybe I'll try a return.

Winchester M22 used to be great stuff - worked great in my AR 22s. Works fine in all of my .22 Pistols also (Ruger MKII, M&P 22, Walther P22 and S&W 22A).

So I don't know if you got a bad batch, or it's your gun. If this is the only ammo that fails in your gun - well perhaps it doesn't like it.

Do you have any other guns to try it in?

Beriuty, if you want to trade for different .22, I can meet you over by DPC some time.
