WTB lower half of 1911

Post by jason237m »

I know it's a long shot but...

I'm looking for a complete lower half of a 1911 (make and model are variable)

It's going to be used to put a .22 conversion kit on so the requirements are minimal.

Prefer DFW area.

Let me know what you have TexasCHLers

Look a few posts down!

There are a few "Lower Halves" for sale that come with a "Free Upper Half" :mrgreen: :biggrinjester:

"rlol" :rolll
Guns are like parachutes, if your ever in a situation that you need one and you dont have one, you'll probably never need one again.

Some folks refer to this as a frame... it that what you are looking for? I think the top half is called a slide, but I'm not sure. The thingy that goes into the bottom half is usually called a clip by those who know according to what I saw in a magazine while going down a slide until my arm clipped the frame. :evil2:

I did this a few years ago. Bought a bare frame, built it from off-the-shelf parts, topped it with my Ciener conversion slide. Works well, but it was expensive. I think I have $450 in it, including the conversion which I paid $150 for.
Some people buy a cheap Filipino 1911 and sell the upper on ebay. That would be a less expensive route IMO.
Today you can buy a Colt branded Umarex 1911-22 for less money.

That's a good deal if the shorter frame will work
