New Knives made by my son (Photo Intensive)

Post by The Annoyed Man »

My son made both my wife and me a knife for Christmas this year. It took a month to get them (it's not like he's got nothing else to do...), but he gave them to us today at lunch after church, and all I can say is WOWZER!

My knife is a hunting/skinning knife, and my wife's is a bread knife for the kitchen. Both have micarta handles, but while mine is kind of traditional red/black micarta, my wife's knife has a really unique sort of marbled grip made from a micarta wrapping technique, and it is shaped after a sushi knife. The spacer between handle and blade on hers is made from the same red/black micarta mine is made from.

Here are the pictures. The first 5 were taken on my son's kitchen counter, and the rest were on mine, hence the difference in pattern and color, which might affect the way the knives look in the photos:

My son's boss has given him permission to put some of his knives for sale in the gunstore's display case (Bear Creek Firearms in Keller), and he will take custom orders for them. If anybody is interested, PM me, and I'll give you my son's contact information. They've got a baby coming in June, and I'm sure he can use any extra money he can get.

Not yet, but inasmuch as I own a website design/hosting business, that's easily enough accomplished if that's what he wants to do.
