Glock 30S thoughts?
I tried a search and got >8000 hits for Glock but not one for 30S so forgive me if this has already been discussed.
Does anyone have any thoughts on the Glock 30S? I was looking for something from anyone who might carry one as to what they thought about it. I have a 36 that I carry in the rotation in summer and a 21 for house duty, but the 30S looks like it might be good in allowing higher capacity magazines for reloads. Anyway, I appreciate the comments.

I carry a Glock 30s. I carry it IWB and OWB. It is about the same size as the G19. In fact I use one of my Alessi holsters made for my G19 with my G30s.
You probably already know the G30's is the G30sf frame with the G36 slide. I have had zero problems with mine. I have big dot 24/7 XS Sights on mine. Excellent pistol.

Re: Glock 30S thoughts?
I had a Glock 30SF and wasn't too keen on it. The gun worked great and shot very well but I'm a big guy with large hands and the SF model frame just felt odd. Now have just Glock 30 and it's odd but the difference seems huge. Didn't have a chance to compare them side by side cause had already gotten rid of the SF model but the regular 30 model feels great and perfect when holding it. Not sure of the actual difference in size but it is something you might try before buying. Also on side note have a 36 also and the 36 feels better when holding then the 30SF did.

I do not have a problem with the grip. I did however install a beavertail on my G30s. I also have a gen 4 G21 which is the SF frame (I believe) and I really like it.
Re: Glock 30S thoughts?
I had a 30SF, and miss it. Used it as a primary carry when our dept switched to the 21SF. If 45ACP wasn't so high, I'd go look for another, but I've become quite the 9mm apologist in the meantime.

Two opinions on the G30s....

I'm still planning to get a Kahr CW45, but I think I want to shoot this one before I decide for certain.

Re: Glock 30S thoughts?
Thanks for the thoughts. Mrs.SDT reminded me that I could buy a bunch of mags, mag holders, and ammo for my 36 for the price of a 30S. I don't have huge paws, so the 36 is a great fit. I handled a 30SF and wasn't moved enough to consider one - especially already owning the 36. Course one can never own too many guns right?

I did too, until I got the 30SF. I like the idea of the slimmer 30S, but don't like the round count or that I can't use the spare 21-13rnd mags.Javier730 wrote:Id like to get a g30sf. I carry a g21sf.

What about G41 mags? Will they work?C-dub wrote:I did too, until I got the 30SF. I like the idea of the slimmer 30S, but don't like the round count or that I can't use the spare 21-13rnd mags.Javier730 wrote:Id like to get a g30sf. I carry a g21sf.

Re: Glock 30S thoughts?
Where is this error coming from? Every test I've read as well as Hickok45's video shows a 13 round 21 mag being put in the 30S. Now the 36? No the larger capacity mags will not fit. I have both a 36 and a 21 and know for absolute certainty they won't fit. But the 30S is a 30SF frame with the thinner slide of the 36. Are all these people mistaken?C-dub wrote:I did too, until I got the 30SF. Maybe I misspoke. I didn't look and thought because of the thinner slide that the whole thing was thinner and therefore a single stack.ShootDontTalk wrote:Where is this error coming from? Re: Glock 30S thoughts?
It is easy to confuse. Some call it a Frankenstein pistol. The Glock 30s has the SF frame and the 36 slide making the slide just a bit thinner than the frame.C-dub wrote:Maybe I misspoke.
