I got to shoot my Glock 26 earlier this week for the first time since Christmas. It ate all the ammo I fed it, 115 grain to 124 grain to 147 grain. I was pleased with that, however it seemed that the trigger was quite gritty. It was not that way at Christmas. Suggestions on what to do??

Take the slide off and stick the lower half on the top rack of your dishwasher and run it through a cycle.

Re: Glock 26 -- gritty trigger
You may already know this but be sure to run your Glock "dry". If you run it wet, you may have gotten oil and carbon down in the trigger mechanism. +1 on the 25 cent trigger job.

Serious question: What cycle do you run? Regular / Heavy Duty / Heated Dry / etc.
Re: Glock 26 -- gritty trigger
Regular cycle including the dry cycle - no soap or detergent.gljjt wrote:Serious question: What cycle do you run? Regular / Heavy Duty / Heated Dry / etc.

Re: Glock 26 -- gritty trigger
If the dishwasher doesn't do the trick (I actually use detergent when I do it) then what you need to check is the firing pin safety. That is typically the part that causes the "gritty" feel when it gets gummy/gritty. See parts # 8 and 9 this diagram:

You can take off the slide and push up and down on this part and you may find that gritty feel. Or it may be in the contact between that part and the trigger bar #25 that pushes up on it.

Thanks guys. I will check those things. I like the dishwasher idea.
