Please help

Post by XD_Dan »

This question was posed in another forum by a friend of mine. I didn't have an answer for him, but hoped you folks could help.
Guys,

I finished my class yesterday in College Station with a 100 on the written test and a 241 on my range qualificaiton. I shot my .45 b/c my brother had my xd as he does not have a semi-auto right now. 241 aint bad but I wanted that 250. Anyway, learned a lot of good info and will have to run my understanding by some folks to make sure I understand everything. They are claiming that it is taking 60-90 days(closer to the 90) to get a new license and 45-90 but up to 120 for a renewal if you can believe that(the instructors renewed theirs and it took 120 days exactly).

Now my question. The three affidavits that you have to sign and notorize must have a county filled in at the top left side.

Q: Should this be the county in which you live or the county in which you took the class? Colelge Station is in Brazos and I live in Harris. Please advise. If it has to be Harris, can I change it or does the Notary Public have to do that?

Thanks guys,

Michael

Your best bet is to call DPS directly and ask them. My guess is that it's supposed to be the county it was notarized in, but I don't know for sure.

Any notarized document must bear the county in which it was signed.
