I'm working on a group project for a graduate level financial accounting class. I'm required to analyze the financial statements of either Ruger or S&W in attempt to persuade investors. The company must first be approved by the professor but I think I may be able to get it through the liberal filter of academia.
At any rate, if you've invested and have any insight or advice on either company, I'm all ears.
Anyone own stock in SWHC or RGR?

I have stock in both and have for several years. I increased my investment in both a couple years ago and doubled this second investment and sold 1/2 of its value. Total time to increase was about 18 months. Never had another stock perform as well. I will maintain both in my portfolio. Of course I also own Smith and Ruger firearms.

Good to hear! I noticed on SWHC's investor page they reported this settlement. Any idea what it was about?

Re: Anyone own stock in SWHC or RGR?
I have a few shares of SWHC in my retirement account, bought in March of this year, appears that I'm down a bit as of now but I bought with a long view (as in 20-25 years, if not 30...hopefully!). I wanted to balance the portfolio a little bit (ie - firearms/defense, I do have some VICEX as well as other aero/defense companies). My strategy is that I invest in companies that I believe in (the products, the technologies, the sector/industry, etc.), for example, AAPL, we publish magazines, we are Mac-exclusive, bought at a ridiculously low price years ago).
