Firearms Training Fort Worth
Does anyone have any experience with and/or knowledge about Firearms Training Fort Worth (http://www.firearmstrainingfortworth.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). I'm looking for some pistol training beyond the "stand and shoot a piece of paper" and this is the closest possibility I can find (Grand Prairie, Arlington, Mansfield area).

I'd be more concerned about quality of training than proximity. Check out Critical Defense Group (near Greenville). It's a further drive, but the training is top notch.

I have no knowledge of that group. I would suggest you look at Texas Defensive Firearms Training . He is from Mansfield, very knowledgeable and shoots competively.

I have shot multiple times at FTFW (My agency does our qualifications there). Bill Carlton and his staff are very knowledgeable on firearms training and tactics, and they believe in dynamic shooting on the move training not just standing and shooting on a square range.
Bill and his staff are definitely worth training with, and might be just what you are looking for.

Re: Firearms Training Fort Worth
Several friends and I (my Sunday School class, actually) were finally able to schedule a Tactical Pistol Level 1 class. It was a great day - lots of fun and good training. Bill and his partner (Travis, I think) were excellent instructors. The class was a little more rudimentary than I had hoped for, but that's always hard to gauge. I think the number of people we had in our group (10) also slowed things down a little.
The only difficulty was in getting it scheduled. They don't have a set training schedule, so you have to find a date that both your group and they are available. Given that we had 10 people in our group, that was a challenge. There was at least once where I found a date they were available, but by the time I heard back from everyone in my group that they could make it, the date was no longer available - they were that busy.
We'll probably go back for a Level 2 course in the fall.
