Keep that guard up!

Post by Will938 »

Last night - 6/1/07 at about midnight two friends and I went to that 24 hour taco place setup in a little camper on this gravel parking lot. It was at huffmeister and 290 on the Cypress Falls HS side, people familiar with the area will understand that its pretty secluded at that time of night.

We arrived in a pretty nice lopey Z28 Camaro and a couple customers took interest immediately. So while my friend ordered for us the other guy and I started talking to them. Held a nice conversation for a while, then as we were waiting for our order they just walked away to their truck.

I kept an eye on them as we were secluded and they did seem to like this car, sure enough what I at first thought was a Daisy BB gun came out of the car, it was pretty dark I couldn't tell for sure. My hand went into my pocket and gripped the Keltec P3AT, they still hadn't done anything very threatening; just moved around to the side with it. They then left into a field and several seconds later I heard a shot from a small caliber go off, like .22LR. Maybe they were hunting rabbits, I don't know.

Its just kind of sobering to know how quickly something like that can develop from nothing, neither of my friends noticed. And had it come down to it, at the moderate distance they were at (about 20 yards away) and given the low light, I'd of only been able to point and pray that a shot landed. Even with a "less devistating" caliber like that I felt like they had a huge advantage over us having the rifle.

So even though nothing threatening happened in this case, it just goes to show how quickly you could be taken advantage of if you let your guard down even for a second.

Cy-Falls High School? Holy Crap! I graduated at Jersey Village HS in 03, and our school is not too far away from each other. My parents still live in Houston btw, so I come back home at least once or twice a month during the weekend. We live like literally 5-10 minutes away from Cy-Falls. We live off of FM 1960 and Wortham in those neighborhood.

Anyways, good thing your guard is up. Houston criminal activity has gone up ever since Katrina victim came into town. 3 of my friends down there in Houston are setting up to get their CHL in the summer. If your looking for drama, Houston is the place to be. That is one of the reasons why I left Houston for temporary to get my life back on track and to stay away from the drama.

DFW/Arlington criminal activity is not getting any better either...

After registering what had happened and deciding that they didn't mean any harm...that was the first thing I thought

edit: but hey, it was delicious.

Couldn't be Squirrels... season ended may 31
Nope not rabbits... can't hunt at night
maybe Feral Hogs... although you have to be very good to use a 22

Sorry to ruin your appetite but only thing logical to hunt under the conditions legally would be... Rat
Reasonable gun control is hitting your target with the first shot.

I'm praying that if they didn't care about discharging a firearm in the city limits or care about carrying that rifle in a "gun free zone", they would also of gone ahead and disreguarded what the TPW had to say as well

HA HA HA!! There used to be a tamale stand near my house growing up, and they would buy every rabbit me and my buddy would bring them.

Good situational awareness keeping your eye on them when they walked away. I am thankful they took a right and not a left. Makes us realize that a compliment on a car could be just setting you up. Thanks.
