I like to follow all my local, state and federal reps. Also, Heritage Foundation, Texas Public Policy Network, Breitbart and Drudge.

Another good way is to do a search for a topic of interest. You'll discover who tweets about common interests. Also, find like minded people and see who they follow.

I also follow some sports related sites.

Depends on what you like; sports, entertainment, politics, music, etc. ? Twitter has everything you want and don't want.

BTW, there is one good Baldwin, Adam, because he's not related to those other Baldwins. He's pro-gun...and who doesn't love Animal Mother or Jayne Cobb?

Probably the easiest way to find things of Interest to you are search by hashtags then see if the person or group posted recently, Like for #GunRights or #2A

SAF Files Notice Of Appeal In I-594 Case #2A #RKBA #GunRights http://t.co/eM7O0IijuG" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

@nraila @nra ETC ETC

I follow a couple local TV reporters, politicians, some from here, a few relatives and I follow back most people who follow me who are G rated,

I usually get my "news" on Twitter then hear the same stuff later in the day on the TV news
=======================

One I have not followed is
Sen Dianne Feinstein
@SenFeinstein

every time I tried to tweet to her she was too busy to reply because she's always looking at pictures of guns to see which ones looked scariest or something...

I enjoy @charlescwcooke and @iowahawkblog for starters...and when @greggutfeld and @patsajak start picking at each other, it is hilarious!

Twitter is a subuniverse of the world. Anything you can find in the world you can find on Twitter. So search twitter for things that interest you and then read some of the tweets from various people. If you read somebody's tweets and you like what they write, follow them. One of the things I like about twitter is that news breaks first there. So, for example, if you hear there was a plane crash in New York, search #nyplane or #nycrash, and you'll probably get the latest news on the crash (along with a ton of bull and rumors). If you want to know who won (or is winning) a ball game, search for it on twitter. If you want to know what someone said about a certain topic, search for it on twitter. It's all there. You really don't have to follow anybody, unless you like what they write. You can just search for stuff when you want to know something about it. The Bin Laden raid first broke on twitter when a Pakistani computer professional tweeted about a loud explosion nearby and speculated that it might be Bin Laden. Another thing you can do, if you're interested in politics from a conservative perspective, is go to twitchy.com. You can follow all the latest fights between the shakers and movers.

For politics, I'll throw in; @BillKristol, @brithume, @JonahNRO, @nro [national review online, not national reconnaissance office], @mcmoynihan, and for balance @jaketapper who is a pretty straight shooter and more involved w/ veterans issues than any other reporter I'm aware of.

Believe me, it can be as nonsensical and frivolous as anything else out there. However, it can be a very useful tool if one desire for it to be.

Narrow the field a bit. What sports do you like? Musical taste? Humor? etc?

I'm a motorsports fan, so I follow different drivers, teams, media, and personalities. With summer camps around the corner I'll unmute some of the Texans' feeds I follow. Throw in some musicians, actors from a TV show I like, comedians, my favorite BBQ joint...you won't lack for things to distract yourself with.
