Ok...I can hear you out there laughing. Yes, a Jimenez...remnant of the old Jennings Firearms. I guess the reason I bought it was for fun...something to play with.
NOT for CHL or self-defense...I have others for that. They had two to choose from in .380...blued or chrome. I chose chrome...been a while since I had owned a pimp gun. The only thing missing are rhinestones on the grips. I would say it was a cheap gun...I guess for a gun it was...and it was at a gun show. Heck, even the box of ammo was too much but I wanted to shoot it when I got home.
It feels good in the hand. The slide action is ok. The trigger.....well, it's a cheap gun trigger. Stiff and a tad gritty. It has an "adjustable" rear sight and a red front post sight. At the range (my backyard) I tried it out with 50 rounds. I found the safety was very easy to flip up and down...a bit too easy I think. Mags would drop okay but I noticed they were hard to get in. It turns out that to insert a mag you have to press the mag release. Not a biggie I guess but a little odd since I'm used to 1911s. Also, after the last round fires the slide doesn't lock back. If you're not counting rounds you'll pull the trigger and just get a "snap."
How did it shoot? Well, out of 50 rounds I only had one FTF. With a bit of lube and shooting a few rounds the trigger seemed to get a little bit better. It was easy to aim and shoot, and at around 10 yards it was fairly accurate.
