The Ruger in 6.5 is on my list of guns to buy. If someone would buy my vz2008 it would be easier to pick one up.....

I am very enthused about the new Ruger. I want to dip my feet into the long range game, but I don't have the skills or the time to justify a high dollar rifle. This rifle might be the answer for me.

He attributed that to his being much more familiar with the AI than with the Ruger. Keeping mind that he was firing a "mad minute", he still hit the target with all 14 shots with the Ruger, but he just got more shots off with the AI - 19 shots. I'm not trying to defend the Ruger here, but when he said that he thought the AI shot slightly tighter groups, my first question was "how could you tell? The target had already absorbed 19 hits from the AI and was covered in a filthy gray coating. At 400 meters, even with a good scope, it would be very difficult to tell which bullet strike belonged to the AI, and which to the Ruger - crosshairs being seen as black against a dirty gray background, instead of black against a clean white background. A more valid test of relative inherent accuracy would have been to start with a clean target for the Ruger. In fact, a dirty target may have contributed to slower shooting, because of a more difficult sight picture.

He also said that maybe with more time on the Ruger, he could shoot as fast as he did with the AI.

All I know is that I'm kind of PO'd that Ruger hasn't offered a left-handed version yet, or I'd snap one up.

Now, now TAM. Ruger is well aware of your preference. Give them a chance to work out the bugs in the wrong handed version before they create perfection in the Left hand model.

Have a friend who ordered the 6.5 and I am trying to deal on one myself. Maybe the wife won't find out about it before she gets the Kimber she wants.

I like what I see! It should do well in F-class. I hope to see some in across-the-course matches, fitted with iron sights of course.

For the real long range stuff, the .308 version will need more than 20" of barrel.

Even though I'm an FFL the Ruger is too hard to get now, I bought a Savage LRP in 6.5 Creedmoor instead......

Once you get with the program and learn to shoot with the correct hand, you'll not have those issues any more

So are you saying TAM has to sit on his left hand until he's Normal?
