I think one of these will be on my list of next to buy. We just had a great shooting session out on "The River" Saturday morning and a friend of mine brought over a his Springfield M1A. After shooting a mag through it, I fell in love. I actually think I fell in love after seeing the gun. I didn't even want to put it down after firing that first round. It was such a smooth shooting rifle. He had a beautiful Leupold glass on there that mated perfectly. It shot almost as smooth as my friends AK but due to the M1A being a bigger round, it had only a tiny bit more recoil but easily manageable. What can you guys tell me about this rifle? This will be my first gun that I actually buy that costs this much initially. I apologize if this should be in the Rifle/Shotgun section instead of here...
TIA!!

Re: Srpingfield M1A Questions
I recently bought one used on this forum. I shot it for the first time this past weekend (see the link below)

I agree with you that it was a great experience shooting one.
My only advice is to take your time looking (there are many configurations available) and decide what format you want.
I got valuable input here on this site about styles, optics, etc...
Good luck.
