CHL approval question

I don't know why I am even concerned with be approved for my CHL, as I have a security clearance. Is it fairly safe to assume that if you are able to purchase a handgun without any issues at all, that you would probably get your CHL without any issues?

Not exactly; there are things like unpaid child support, student loans, etc that are not a bar to owning a firearm but prevent issuance of a CHL

I had a "Q" clearance, and it took 4 1/2 months for my application to clear, if that helps you any.

In all fairness to the DPS, they did send the license the day after they found my packet.

Thanks guys. I don't anticipate any issues as I have never been arrested, don't owe child support, and have never been late on a student loan payment.
