Booed-Halloween Safety

Post by LSUTiger »

This apparently is a thing which I did not know existed until last night when my kids were "booed" from some other kids/parents at school.

You get cheap holloween plastic trick or treat bowl and fill it with candy and books/pens/colors/stickers/junk and leave it at the front door of a friend/classmates house at night. You ring the door bell and run off, hoping the "booed" people don't see you driving off.

The have the goodies with the attached notices printed, challenging you too boo others and put up a notice so you don't get booed again.

OK its a nice fun game. Only my wife didn't tell me it was coordinated through school and we were playing and when the door bell rang a 9:00 PM at night and I wasn't expecting anyone or a package (UPS sometimes comes really late at my house) my alert condition changed colors.

As I approached the door I didn't see anyone through the frost glass but noticed a strange looking package that I know it wasn't the UPS guy who left it. I looked outside the side window and didn't see anyone. Immediately I was cautious to open the door ready for anything. I opened the door looked out side for a second, saw no one, read the note and then took a step out to get the package and noticed my kids girl scout troop leader minivan parked a little down the street. Her daughter was just getting in. She must have saw me and then she honked. I waved and she drove off.

I busted them because her kid couldn't get away fast enough. LOL.

Don't let your guard down but this could happen to you this Halloween. Be aware. I would hate to see a headline like "girl scout gets shot bringing candy to friends house"

What happen to the good old days of flaming bags of stuff on your front porch? Darn wimpification of America! "rlol"
Chance favors the prepared. Making good people helpless doesn't make bad people harmless.
There is no safety in denial. When seconds count the Police are only minutes away.
Sometimes I really wish a lawyer would chime in and clear things up. Do we have any lawyers on this forum?
