My wife has always been supportive of the gun movement in Texas and is very supportive of my 24/7 concealed carry commitment. Yesterday she committed to taking the LTC class. I'm pretty excited about that. I'm not sure that she will carry always, but is already a pretty good shot and follows all safety precautions as bible. I've taken her to the range a few times in the last 5 years and yesterday told me she wants to go soon to punch some more paper.
I see new guns in my future.

Good for both of you & yes there will be more guns in the future but they will probably be owned by her, that's what happened to me when I got my wife into shooting, she got her chl last year & glad she carries everyday .

I too have found that a "card carrying wife" leads to more guns...and as mentioned above, some will be "hers." This is a good thing.

Word of advice: at least in my house, the wife's having "her own" guns is just as important to her has having "her own" tools in the garage...and makes it far more likely that she'll grab one and carry it. We've actually ended up with a couple of duplicates this way, but it means that she's far more likely to have a gun on her at any given time. She has a couple that I simply don't touch...under threat of "unhappy wife!"

It just took finding the right pistol to get my wife onboard. Bought 4 pistols before finding her the right one. She carrys a rainbow p238 now and loves to shoot it. Actually building a shooting range this year so she can shoot more.

I need your wives to talk to my wife. My wife support me carrying. She's a good shot herself, and she does keep a gun in the car with her if I'm out of town. She hasn't committed to getting her license just yet, but she's been real close a couple of times. I think both her and our son in law will likely go take the class together sometime this spring, I hope.

My wife has been to the range several times. She enjoys it. A couple of weeks ago we went to our first gun show and she saw and held a Sig P938. She loved it and started talking about buying one. Then last Tues she took a Ladies Learn to Shoot class at our local range and fire 7 different guns. We are going to the range tomorrow so she can decide whether she likes a Ruger SR9c or a Sig P238 (they don't have a P938 to rent). She has also said she wants to take the LTC class.

Good deal! We've made improvements over the past few years, but the number of female applicants is still less than 27% (up from 17.5% 10 years ago). I'm thrilled every time I hear about another woman getting her plastic, and I'd love to see that percentage keep climbing closer to 50%.

My wife has arthritis in her hands and has trouble with the springs in a slide nowdays on anything stronger than a .22. Old arthur has made her lose most of her grip. But she can still handle a revolver pretty well.

My wife has arthritis as well. Got her a Sig 938. I prefer 9mm over 380 and they are the same size. It is one of the few she can rack. Since it is hammer rather than striker, if she's having trouble, I have her cock the hammer first and makes it easier to rack.

Then she said, do I have to rent a gun. I told her she could use mine but since we had already planned a trip to the range tomorrow to determine which gun she likes best, I told her she could probably have her own gun by class time on Feb 1!

I took my LTC course in December and exactly half of the class of 24 were women. I think women are getting on board more and more.
