Obama has Firearm & Ammo company stocks

Post by NotRPB »

Obama has firearm & ammo company stocks http://www.wnd.com/2016/02/obama-owns-s ... companies/
Although it isn't a lot maybe ..and "indirectly" so he doesn't get caught ...
He makes sales increase by speaking of gun control, AND >As commander in chief, doesn't his military buy a LOT of guns/ammo?
(and the IRS buys millions of rounds of ammo and the ...)
Is that Insider trading?

Wow a whole $30 worth of stock in his pension fund.
This is news? I say "big deal".

I agree. I have no control over what companies my pension fund invests in.

A non-story for sure (anyone with a mutual fund probably has some connection somewhere) though it is always worthwhile in these situations to point-out how tightly woven the firearms industry is, not only with the populace but also with the economy.

The elitists in Washington seem not to fully understand this. Certainly the gun-banners do not.

If gun grabbers ever got to the point where there were no guns or ammo sold in this country the tax burden to fill the gap would be unbelievable.

"The elitists" understand a lot more than you give them credit.

I don't think so. They could just raise the taxes on alcohol and gasoline and that would easily make up the difference.

This is the kind of petty stuff that drive me nuts. There is so much substantial and egregious behavior that focusing on this petty stuff lessens the willingness of people to listen to what really matters. The guy is ignoring the Constitutional Separation of Powers and you want to hang him on some stock transactions???

Do you think "The Elitists" understand this strategy?

Yep, I don't care one little bit about the petty stuff like that. I care a lot more about big issues and the generally bad direction the current administration has our nation headed in.

Yep. Like whether the English and Spanish on a 30.06 sign must be on one sign or can it be on two.

At least you have enough sense not to get involved in those discussions.

I think you might've missed my point. Forget/ignore "taxes". This is an industry that provides livelihoods for many (many) millions of Americans.

It would be neither easy nor painless to implement any policies that do away with firearms and ammo and all the ancillary gear associated with these.

The loss of the firearm industry would have a far more disastrous effect on the freedoms in this country than simply the loss of livelihood of industry workers.
