That's a great post thanks,

I was fortunate in that I never had to make the decision to take someone's life as a LEO. There was an officer on our force that did, a friend that I went through the academy with. When the letter writer talks about the ineptitude, and poor handling of a situation by a department I saw it first hand, but while the department, was very uncaring, I saw greatness in the men and women who were fellow officers come together and surround the officer with support, a shoulder to lean on, and a sounding board for everything he went through. No one ever wants to have to make that decision, you train for it, you run through all of the what ifs in your mind, you maintain a heightened awareness every minute you are wearing the badge, but until it happens, you really can't imagine the roller coaster of emotions you go through.

I have forwarded this to some LEO friends, and I hope that if anyone knows people in law enforcement, or their families you will pass this along.
