The patron saint of real gunners is St Barbara.

I always thought the holy trinity of gunners in general was Stoner, Kalashnikov and Glock. Some might say Browning should be in there, but that was in the old testament.

No such thing as the "old Testament" There is the Hebrew Bible and the Christian Bible. I have HUGE admiration for the Catholic Saint system, and we often contribute to Catholic Charities.

Now let's get serious, clearly we cannot ignore Yisrael Galili (Balashnikov) (1923–March 9, 1995), best known for inventing the Galil assault rifle. He also helped create the Uzi submachine gun. He was known in the military by the nickname 'Father of the Rifle'.

That may be, but JMB was the father of many rifles and shotguns and pistols and machine guns!

I was kind of under the impression that the patron saint of handgunners was Colonel Jeff Cooper, or maybe Elmer Keith.

I'm a member of the Congregation Of The Enlightened Pistolero. Does that count for anything?
