Newb with Q's about fingerprints and addresses

Post by bwahahaha »

Hi everyone,

I applied for my CHL about two years ago, received the paperwork from the DPS, and then had to start commuting back-and-forth from California every week, stalling everything until now. I'm a little worried about a couple of things:

#1 The packet was mailed out in March, 2005, so my residence/employment history dates all end in "03/2005" on the forms. Technically, I really kept the same residence and employer between March 2005 and now, and never changed my DL information with the DPS. I'm assuming I'll have problems if I send it back as-is, so can I just enter the updated information onto the "make corrections if needed" side?

FWIW, when I try to start another application on the DPS site I get the following error:

"Ineligible to apply - Original application in progress."

So, it looks like my 2005 application is still active.

# 2 (unrelated): My CHL class is in a week. I was going to get the whole shebang (photos, prints), but a couple of days ago suffered second degree burns on two of my right fingers (the bottom of the fingers, where they'll print). Not much of the fingers is burned, but it will screw up the fingerprints for those fingers a little bit due to the skin being smooth where it was burned. Is there some way to have the fingerprinter make a note on the cards that it's not printing perfectly due to injury, or do I have to wait until it heals over, if it heals over?

Thanks...kk

Make the corrections, attach a note if you feel the need

If your injuries or scars are permanent, the printer makes a note on the card. If your injuries are temporary, you need to wait until they heal and then be printed. However, if you have any prints at all on those fingers, then a little Corn Huskers lotion will probably help you get an acceptable impression.

Good luck on the class!

Can't answer #1, but there is plenty of people here that can.

I've had them make notations on my fingerprints plenty of times. Scars really messed with that electronic one at the IRS building in Austin. Had to do it manually and make notes.
