A little purell will probably suffice! Nice gift- I bet he was thrilled.

Just curious, why no handloads through a glock?

I was looking at some after market Glock barrels, more from an accuracy perspective though. I am looking at the Wilson Combat barrels in particular. Do you think these will actually increase accuracy without a noticeably negative impact on reliability?

Can't shoot FMJ handloads through a stock Glock?

It's the polygonal rifling in OEM barrels. You shouldn't shoot unjacketed bullets through polygonal rifling.

Thanks. I know that. I pretty much only reload with FMJ. Interesting enough, my local gun range had a non FMJ restriction listed in their "rules". I asked them if that meant that Glock owners were forbidden. They now allow FMJ and I don't even know why they would have restricted FMJ anyhow.

I know two people that will run 3:1 or 2:1 lead to jacketed in the mags with a standard barrel, and have done so for years. Mop some lead remover in there every once in a while and it will be fine. Just don't feed it nothing but lead year after year.

Well, he has no family and I wanted to do something nice for him - but thanks :)
However he obviously didn't rate the upgrade to a Springfield XD(m) :biggrinjester:

It was a friend's birthday and it's always been a little frustrating to me that he can't shoot handoads through his Block 19 - so I ordered him a Lone Wolf barrel. It was rather amusing when his eyes widened and he pulled his Spyderco knife from his pocket - which was a short run made for Lone Wolf. Amazing how the universe sometimes aligns, no?

Don't be too hard on yourself, I finally went to the dark-side. I bought a glock 26.....it gets worse,, I really like the damned thing........mea culpa, mea culpa.
