I was at the range the other day and this guy was shooting a gun that used the 22tcm round. I noticed only one manufacture supports this. The one thing i noticed it was VERY loud even compared to his 45acp he was shooting also. I don't see the point in buying a gun with such limited support?

The tcm round is branded under Armscor, the people who make Rock Island armory. Some of their 1911's come with both a 9mm and .22 tcm barrels, same magazine. It's not really anything out of the ordinary and not really issue with support its a 9mm 1911.
