Johnny Football Indicted

Post by stash »

Heard on the radio this morning that Manzel has been indicted. I feel sorry for the guy, but he brought in on himself. Alcohol is a terrible thing when it cannot be controlled. I don't think he will play football again but for his sake I hope he can get a grip on his life. Maybe this is a good thing (hitting rock bottom) so to speak. I pray the Good Lord takes care of him.

Sound like he was indicted for assault (of girlfriend), although the penalty referenced sounded like that of a class A misdemeanor. I guess you can get indicted for less than a felony.
4/13/1996 Completed CHL Class, 4/16/1996 Fingerprints, Affidavits, and Application Mailed, 10/4/1996 Received CHL, renewed 1998, 2002, 2006, 2011, 2016...). "ATF... Uhhh...heh...heh....Alcohol, tobacco, and GUNS!! Cool!!!!"

Sources in the Dallas County District Attorney’s office tell L.P. Phillips of KRLD-AM, Johnny Manziel has been
indicted by a Dallas County Grand Jury on a misdemeanor assault with bodily injury charge.
Apparently it is not very common, but he was indicted on a misdemeanor charge.

"A Dallas County grand jury has handed down a true bill of indictment against former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel, a source in the district attorney's office told News 8.

The indictment, on a misdemeanor assault charge, is expected to be formally announced Monday."

He doesn't want help.... if he did he would get it. I don't believe he has hit rock bottom either, he still parties, drinks in excess and seems perfectly fine with throwing his career away for a lifestyle of popularity. Myself being a addict in recovery, looking on the outside of things... I see a lot of warning signs of everything I've posted above.

People are openly dissociating themselves from him, because they see what is really going on. That is the big red flag for me. The only ones who are staying are the ones who are co-dependent or moochers who benefit from pumping up his ego.

I've never in my life seen a bigger idiot than Johnny Manziel. For someone to have such a potential wonderful financial future laying in their lap and just toss it in the trash, I just don't get it. This is clearly a perfect example of a kid who wasn't raised right and had his buttocks tore up when needed. Such a fool and such a waste!

Someone needs to slap his parents for spoiling him rotten.

ETA grammar correction.

I don't know his parents, but I know folks in Kerrville who do know them. It would seem that he was well thought of as a teenager, but the 'Fame & Glory' he received at A&M went to his head. From what I hear his parents have been pretty distraught about his behavior for several years.

It is an embarrassment that his name is associated with A&M. However, even back in the 70's under Emory Bellard I personal know of payment to players. I remember Lester Hayes (future NFL pro bowler) being accused of attacking a fellow student with a claw hammer ( amazingly that went away). It has always been corrupt.

I don't know the man, but he is young enough that hopefully he can straighten himself out before he destroys himself and his talent.

I thought I heard on the radio that Dallas Grand Juries don't convene on Monday's and that they'd have to wait until tomorrow to hear it.
I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

This ^^^

I know the family well. They are all are originally from Tyler. His uncle or great uncle (all of the Maziel's names run together after awhile along with the long list of legends) owns the Oil Palace on Hwy 64 East. Money did not go to his head because he was born into MONEY. I do not think it is fair to blame a parent when an adult child goes awry. If that was the case then God's first two kids (Adam and Eve) went bad. We could list a zillion people who trained their children right and when they became adults decided not to live like they were raised.
