Gun lawyer in the DFW area for NFA Trust

Post by dragun »

Anyone recommend a good gun lawyer who can draw up a gun trust in the DFW area?

Check out the new rules going into effect next month, then decide if you still want a trust. That's not my area of practice, so I won't comment. However, I was briefed on the changes during the NRA meetings in Louisville.

Well my understanding is that with the new law their will be essentially additional proof that each "responsible person" on the gun trust will have to submit additional information like photos, finger prints, etc along with additional background checks, and that they are entitled to posses firearms. Just seems like a little overkill so if I can avoid some hassle now would likely get an NFA gun trust. Please correct me or add to this if I am missing anything with regards to that interpretation of the changes that will take place. thx

Sounds about right, if your intent is to have multiple trustees and a beneficiary or two then its a good move.

After the rule change, all trusts including those that were created prior to the change, will have to follow the same procedures.

+1 for Mark Toronjo - whom I consider a friend as well as my attorney.

Well that's saying a lot. Appreciate the input. While I haven't posted much on the site I have been "lurking" and reading it for quite some time, your post have been informative, so thanks. I'll have no reservations about calling him when needed.
