Federal small pistol primers

Post by canvasbck »

What's the deal? Unicorns are way easier to find these days than Federal #100.

With the light hammer spring I'm running in my CZ Shadow, Winchester primers have to be seated DEEP or its a no go. I've been searching for Federal for months to no avail. Does anyone know the reason for the shortage of these particular primers?

Saw some at the Pasadena Gun Show a few weeks ago... Didn't know there was a problem. I only reload for my rifles so I haven't been aware of a shortage.

Late to this but I am surprised too. Hope this does not mean another shortage. Remington primers would probably be a good substitute for you.

This is why you make friends with local ammunitions producers. Do some favors/hand out some chits and maybe you can tack on to their next order of 100k or 250k primers. 10k at a time.

My local Academy had them on the shelf today, $3.99 per hundred.
