It's the Crazy Gun Dealer(yes that's the real name of the store), located in of all places, Alvarado. It's south of Ft.Worth about 50 or so miles.

Thanks for chiming in Jusme. I thought you lived down that way.Jusme wrote:I live about 2 miles from them. They do have good deals occasionally and will match the price of any gun.
They also offer range membership with gun purchase and free LTC class. Their ammo is higher so weigh the cost of the gun against one with no ammo purchase. Small store not a huge amount of inventory, but can order anything goes on the web site. Their store does get crowded due to its size, but the staff is very helpful. Usually when they offer specials it's not on top of the line guns. I was able to negotiate a Ruger American 308 Stainless with scope down almost $100.00 from asking price, so they will make deals.
I am not affiliated with them in any way, but I have been in several times.

I don't remember the exact price but the week before they were $600. I was standing there dumbfounded at the pricing when gentleman walked up and asked for a business card. He looked at it and promptly returned it and commented to the sales guy he now knew who not to buy from in the future.
Your money and your decision but they won't get any business from me. It's the free market at work. They're free to sell at whatever price they see fit and I'm free to find another dealer. My 2 cents...
Perhaps they didn't have a store front at that time but I'm pretty sure they are one in the same. They're the one's dressed in day-glo orange at the local shows. If that's not them then I owe them an apology.Jusme wrote:lfinsr wrote:Just for the record, they were at the top of the list of price gougers right after the Newtown, CT shooting asking >$2000 for a standard AR. Not to be argumentative, nor to claim they didn't gouge prices, but they weren't open in 2012 after Newtown. They didn't open until the next year. I have found their prices to be very competitive, and I have personally seen them match the price for a gun a customer brought an ad in from Academy. Again, I have no dog in the hunt, I don't gain anything from them getting business, but I haven't been treated with anything but fairness from them . JMHO
That is them in the orange shirts, and I don't know about their pricing at the gun shows, but if so then they have changed their pricing, I can only speak for my experiences there. I agree, the name seems a bit over the top, but the owner started out as an auctioneer, and is big on promotions, I think he is trying to be an attention grabber, most gun stores don't do radio ads, but he has obviously put a lot of money into it. He also needs to expand his store, because the only complaint I have there is that it gets too crowded in such a small space, but he packs in the customers. The best time to go is during the week, early, I think they open at 10 am. by the afternoon it is really crowded, and the weekends are more so.lfinsr wrote:Perhaps they didn't have a store front at that time but I'm pretty sure they are one in the same. Even if I'm off on my previous assertion, and I don't think I am, they're not doing the gun community any favors. "Crazy Gun Dealer" plays right into the anti's hand.Guys, please come up with a better name...
Hey, if you do go back there, suggest to the owner for me that I won't be back to his website until he removes that video that automatically starts playing on page load. It is possible for the website owner to configure the video player so that the viewer must click the play button to view it. I just really don't like it when I am assaulted by sound the minute I load a page. I just retired as a self-employed website design business owner and I can tell you that, in the design world, it is considered both poor design and rude to blast a new viewer with sound as soon as he/she clicks into the site.Jusme wrote:Drove by there about an hour ago. Cars parked hundreds of yards before and after their store. Looks like tents set up. Didn't stop, looks like a madhouse, not conducive to a relaxing shopping experience. But I guess their advertising is paying off.
