45 acp round suggestion

Howdy folks I am looking for a good self defense round for my Glock 30. I am new to 45acp carry wise. I have shot 45acp a long time but just bought my first carry gun in that caliber. I have been carrying a G19 or 26 with either Speer gold dots or Hornady American gunner. I was looking at the federal HST's and saw plenty of good reviews but I thought I'd come on here and ask first before I went and spent any money. And since it is a shorter barre should I opt for +P or no?
