Prayers would be appreciated
I have a huge interview next week with the PD that I have been trying to get on. I've passed every test and they said I look very good I'm very highly spoke of. It comes down to nailing the oral interview. And I'm about as nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rockin chairs.

Wishing you all the best! Know your strengths & weakness, be confident in what you can do, and identify how you would be able to work within the structure of the police department. Speak to how you are honored to be a part of the department and to help keep your community safe, and you'll be fine.

Prayers sent.
Good luck, I know. It seems intimidating, but they will want you to be able think on your feet, so don't worry about being too prepared, just answer the questions honestly.
Thanks in advance for your service.

Heres a couple things to consider from someone that's been on both sides of the table during a board (not as an LEO, but same anxiety).
1. Those on the board have been in your position once. Many will remember what it felt like.
2. They likely will have the best interests of the force forefront in their minds. They've not only been the new guy/gal, they've already done the job you want to be a part of. They know the demands, the risks, & what it's like to depend on another human being when things get bad. And, more importantly, they've likely experienced first hand dealing with someone who couldn't/wouldn't uphold the standards, that they wouldn't trust 100% without question to be there when needed. They don't want to be responsible for letting "that guy/gal" through, & feel the guilt later when 'that guy' hurts someone, let's someone get hurt, or otherwise bring discredit to the organization.
3. The oral board isn't so much an interview (where only one applicant, & one alternate are chosen); it's more of a screening process to ensure the limited training seats are filled with those most likely to succeed in that particular field/department/specialty.
4. Be honest (integrity isn't negotiable), & clear when presenting yourself. Remember, LEOs must be confident, but needn't be cocky.
5. Most boards will start out explaining the process, then afford you an opportunity to introduce yourself before they begin asking you questions that are prepared in advance. This is designed to allow you to shake off the initial jitters by talking about something you know (... yourself!...). Rehearse a SHORT introduction so you're not caught off guard, & only hit the highlights. No need to start out at birth, K-12, etc; keep it to 2 min or less; hit your motivations for applying, your short term goals (like getting through the academy & learning the profession), & some mid-career goals (research the department so you know what opportunities are available and the required career progression to get there; there's not much more off-putting than "I'd like to be a SWAT Assaulter-Sniper Ninja within the year after I'm off probationary status"...).
6. The prepared questions may included hypothetical situations; "How would you handle.....", "Tell us about a time that......". Answer from your heart, but professionally. They're assessing if you're a good fit & can think on your feet.
7. Feel blessed that the department your applying to has a screening process that includes an oral board. That means they take pride in their department, and are setting you up for success. Once selected, you know that they believe you have the characteristics & traits needed for success; it's up to you to prove them right ever single day, whether in training or on the job.
And a final bit of advice since you asked for prayer. Do your part to prepare for it; God has the rest covered. If it doesn't work out, accept it must be for a reason. His will & wisdom will prevail.
