Hello All,
I just received my LTC and am now going to sign up for the NRA Handgun Instructor Course.
I then want to apply to become a License to Carry Handgun Instructor in TX.
My questions are:
Do I need to pay for and submit an entirely new set of finger prints? (I just did that for my LTC)
Is there another background check waiting period for those of us that have an LTC?
Typically how far out is the wait to get into an instructor class?
Thank y’all very much,
Andy

Re: LTC Instructor Questions
Yes.
Yes.
I waited for 6 months after submitting everything to find out I wasn't even on the wait list yet. Looking at probably 4-9 months, with 4 being EXTREMELY optimistic.

Re: LTC Instructor Questions
Yes. The instructor application is treated as a completely separate transaction with its own set of paperwork. The checks are done all over again once you have all your paperwork submitted and then you are put on a wait list. It may be up to a year now for wait list...haven't heard lately.
