Beautiful weekend weather forecasted for DFW - who wants to shoot?

Post by Bitter Clinger »

Weather forecast is excellent - for the first time in a long time. We should get out, get together and throw some lead downrange! :fire

Clays? Steel? Who has a suggestion?

Thanks!!!

There is Action Pistol Match at DPC on Saturday. It would be nice for all to shoot there, then we go for 2:00 PM somewhere.
Non-member match fees are just $20.
Bring a lot of ammo 200-300 rds as each stage can have a lot of targets.

We can shoot LR (1k yards) if we can find a host (I know one) to be there at private range (Sat or Sun). Day fees are also $20.

On Saturday October 1st, Frisco Gun Club has a full day of "Product Demo" and Free Gun Cleaning and Live testfire.

Not much into matches myself but I could go for a casual shoot somewhere. I know there's an outdoor range B-Tactical just outside of the metroplex.

Well, can't say that I am into matches either, never having shot one, but after speaking with Beiruty I'm gonna give it a try. Seems as though the long distance range access will take a little more time to plan.

Anyway, we plan to meet at Dallas Pistol Club at 9:00 am on Saturday. Beiruty is now an R.O. there and he promised me that I would only be marginally embarrassed (by MY performance) :cheers2:

I would normally be up for it, but our house is being listed Friday morning, and we're going to have our hands full for the next few days.

No. We just need a bigger home to manage a changing family dynamic. But if you're interested in seeing my house, PM me, and I'll give you a link to the realtor.com page.

I'll wait for the new home and the housewarming. I figure it will have at least a 100 yard range out back :cheers2:

Well, Beiruty and I had an excellent time at the Dallas Pistol Club! There were 24 shooters for the "Action Pistol" match, most all with a great deal of match experience! The stages were fun and interesting and quite varied - shooting from a simulated seat in a car, shooting from behind barriers, multiple target engagement, steel "poppers", moving targets, distance shooting and moving and shooting. It was really a privilege to be in with this group of veteran shooters; they were very safety minded, friendly, great gun handlers, and they offered useful tips and really made me feel very welcome! All in all, a great day at the range!
