I took my newest acquisition, a SIG 232 .380 out for a little test run. My wife and I headed out with our daily carry weapons, several .22's pistols and revolvers and the SIG. We were having so much fun shooting the .22's and our CCW's I almost forgot to shoot the SIG 232 SL .380 before we heaeded to the rifle range to pop a few .22 WMR rounds in a little Marlin bolt action. I shot the SIG at my wife's B27 target at about 8 yards. I thought I took a photo of the group I put in the head of the target. My first shot of 7 was double action to see what the DA pull was like. I shot his right ear off ; the final six were kill shots. The single action pull is a little long, but the let off is not bad. I thought I took a picture of the target, but there wasn't one on my phone - maybe I forget to get my phone back from my wife after she took my picture. I like the little pistol. I will probably pocket carry it when I wear light weight shorts or trousers. The later models had Hogue grips. I'm going to look for a set because the plastic grips are a little slippery. If I can't find any I'll check Apex for some wrap arounds.

I have a Sig P 230 SL. It's my wear to church and otherwise sorta' dress up gun. Somewhere along the line, I replaced the original 230 grips with 232 grips for some reason I don't remember.

You could temporarily apply strips of skateboard tape to the grips until you find grips you like.
I just ordered some Hogue 30000 over molded rubber grips for it. There are some obvious differences like 3 dot sights w/ the rear being adjustable. (Later models have Sig nite sights) Fewer serrations on the slide. I think the grip may be rounder. I saw on one forum that there were 60 some odd changes. The feed ramp was changed and maybe polished better. There aren't that many parts in the gun so don't know what else they did. I assume they were mostly minor changes. Mine has the aluminum frame/ stainless slide. I will have a better report next time and remember to photograph the targets. I ran across a 230 in stainless up in Mansfield about 6 months ago, but they wanted $750 for it. It had 6 magazines which would be nice, but I rarely have more than three and I thought it was overpriced. I got the 232 for far less than half of that. I will be looking for magazines next month when my government check comes in.
I'd appreciate any info you can find on the differences.

I plan on carrying it to church as well when I can get the right holster. I pocket carry and my Kahr PM40 makes me feel lopsided.
