LCP II

I have owed a Ruger LCP for several years and carry it when my Glock is not practical. I have never really liked the LCP because of its VERY heavy trigger pull, snappiness, and lack of sights. I read a few reviews about the LCP II and decided to get one. I went to the range today and I am very pleased with the little gun. The trigger feels like my Glock and (according to the literature) has a 5.5 lb pull. The sights are not perfect but they are adequate. The gun is still snappy but that is to be expected with a 12 oz gun. The slide also stays open after the last round. If you are in the market for an LCP, wait until you can find a LCP II. It is a big improvement over the original. (I got mine at Dick's in Katy)

My mother has the original LCP. I tried shooting it back in June and was just no good compared to my Sig P238. I just couldn't get enough grip on it. There were several issues I had overall. Then they announced the LCP II. I looked at all the changes, and the reportedly fixed every single complaint I had with it. I'd love to try it out to see how it shoots. It might be an economical option for some friends who are looking for a good pocket pistol.

My wife carries an LCP in her purse. I might need to look at upgrading. It sits in a kydex pocket holster so that her lip gloss or mascara doesn't touch it off.

We have a Ruger LCP II. Great little gun. Nice trigger , good sights and slide locks back. Wife uses it a lot when she can't carry the Glock 19. What holsters you guys using for the LCP II ?

When I have to carry my LCP I use a Fobus paddle or a Bulldog.

Went into a shop earlier and got to handle the LCP and LCP II side by side. I really do like the feel of the LCP II better. The grip contour just fits my hand better than it did on the LCP. Next step is finding one I can test fire.

I carry it in my right rear pocket like a wallet. I found that Levi 505 jeans have deep enough rear pockets to accept the holster without the top showing.

I pocket carry. I rotate between a Sig P238 (.380) and a Sig P938 (9mm). They're the same platform, and very minor differences. Easy to train with the 9mm (cheaper ammo cost) and carry either one.

For a POCKET carry, I prefer the LCP gen 2 over the LCP II for safety purposes. If you're having to sight your target with a LCP, you're using the wrong gun. The little .380 is a point and shoot gun, good for 20..25 feet. Learn to point it at center mass and shoot it with one hand.

With the LCP II only carrying 6+1, "Learning to fire with one hand" can be very risky! Better train well!
