New .38 Spl Colt Revolver

Post by WildBill »

I just saw this on the NRA website. I am glad that Colt is getting back into the double action revolver business.
No information on price or when it will be available.

I am guessing since they don't have the DOD or DOJ contract anymore is the reason for the revolver line starting back up. I also believe that is why the Colt AR's have come say down in prices. I seen that GT Distributors had the 6920 on sale for around $600.00 before Christmas.

I will be one of the first in line to buy a new Colt revolver (I hope).

I have always wanted a Python, but refuse to pay $2000 or so that they command. I will certainly be interested in a Cobra when they become available.

I am not interested in the 38 or the cobra at the moment. I'm still holding out on the re-intro of the python. I will get one of those.

If Santa is kind to me next year, I would immediately order 2-3 each of critical parts, so my grandkids could keep it running.

I'd love to see a version released with that deep bluing that Colt did so beautifully on their old revolvers.

I kinda hear you on that - I've always admired the looks of the Python but have never been impressed with its lack of longevity (probably why I like the rare Couger so much - a Python barrel on a Ruger frame):

Looking forward to seeing this little Colt being released.
Mine has lasted a long long time. Of course most of the time it's been in my safe.

me too.
Centuries ago, my first revolver was a King Cobra. I ordered the Royal Blue, but a satin Stainless was shipped instead, which I bought.
I should have held out for the blued one (well, in hindsight I should have bought 1 of each, plus a Python or 2.....)

I will wait with baited breath. I really want to complete the Python collection, and frankly I just like all the colt DA revolvers, shortfalls and all.

I still kick myself for passing on the $3000 set of 2", 4" and 6" Pythons I found on an obscure table at a gun show several years ago. Nevermind that I didn't have $3000 to spend at the time.

I think I should start saving money now....this could get spendy.
