A co-worker asked me today about where she might get basic classes/instruction on shooting and gun handling. She's never shot a gun in her life, but recent events in her life have made her re-consider that.
I've offered to take her to the range, but I'd also like to give her a recommendation on a good one-on-one instructor that's not too far from her. A female instructor would be great, but not required. I'm sure she would be open to a larger class as well.
She also has a 13 year old daughter who she would like to have attend the class or at least watch.
Does anyone know someone in the Houston / Midtown area?

Re: Instructor in the Houston / Midtown area
If she would feel like travelling to PSC, Charles Cotton and I are doing a Ladies only NRA Basic Pistol Class on 8/10 (6:00 PM to 9:00 PM) and 8/11 (probably 8:00 AM to about 3:00 PM). This class is designed to take someone who knows nothing and enable them to shoot safely with basic proficiency. Tell her to contact either Charles@TexasShooting.com or Marc@TexasShooting.com if interested. We have .22's she can use.LedJedi wrote:A co-worker asked me today about where she might get basic classes/instruction on shooting and gun handling. PSC is on FM528 in Friendswood, about 28 miles south of downtown Houston. I'm going to do a CHL class in the conference room of my law office, but we still have to go to a range for the shooting portion.
I could do an NRA Basic Pistol class there also, if we could get enough people interested, but we'd still have to do to a range. That would be PSC. The NRA Basic Pistol course is a one day course, so I don't really see any benefit to her to do the classroom portion downtown, then drive to PSC for the range work.
Chas.
