No Birthdays today.

As I usually do, I check to see what members have a birthday, and today, there are none listed.
But today would have been my mother's 83rd birthday. She was an amazing woman, that I appreciate, more everyday. My parents divorced when my sister and I were very young.. My dad did not pay child support, so my mother was forced to raise two kids, on a secretary's salary in the late 60s and 70s. Needless to say, we weren't wealthy. But, we always had food to eat, clothes,, to wear, and a roof over our heads. She also managed to make it to music recitals, little league games, school plays etc. She was able to get a home mortgage, at a time, when it was almost impossible for a single woman to do so.
She taught us the value of hard work, saving money, and sacrificing for the good of the family.
She passed away at an early age, she was only 54. I miss her everyday, and know how much she would have enjoyed all of her grandkids, and great grandkids.

Jusme, it sounds as if we had very similar paths. I was a little luckier that my mother lived until 2010 and the age of 78.
